Amy Adams makes a gesture of misguided girl power when she leaps across the pond in pursuit of her BF and lands in the arms of an Irish charmer. [Rated PG]

Amy Adams is as appealing as ever, but her charms aren't enough to keep Leap Year from succumbing to an overabundance of clichés and an unfunny script.

It would be OK that we can predict every plot point-- and I mean IeveryI plot point, right down to the drunken kiss interrupted by vomiting-- if it were at all fun getting there. But even as ILeap YearI stumbles toward a very standard kind of sexual tension near the end, the lethal lack of humor keeps the audience from getting any pleasure out of it.
