What a ride! Heart-racing action, suspense and adventure -- it is thrilling family entertainment in the great hallowed Disney tradition.

(1.5 Stars/Out of 4) - A flavorless sci-fi family picture that fools itself into thinking it is more grandiose than it is. "Race to Witch Mountain" has all the thrills of a race between a slug and a hermit crab. This is rote, paint-by-numbers moviemaking.

Dwayne Johnson rocks this remake as a cabbie saddled with helping psychic siblings escape to Witch Mountain. [Rated PG]

Despite the best efforts of a talented cast, Race to Witch Mountain is a tepid reboot that lacks the magic of the original.

The Rock has talent, charisma, and gigantic muscles. By now he should be well on his way to being the next Stallone, and he was until Disney got a hold of him. Now he hangs out with cute kids and smiles lovingly at the camera. Instead of the next Schwarzenegger hes the next Steve Guttenberg and we have Disney to thank for it. Its only a matter of time before hes doing a buddy comedy with Miley Cyrus.

Overall this is a solid kid's movie. If you have to entertain kids 12 and under over Spring Break, then I'd recommend "Race to Witch Mountain." Anyone older than this should break out a "Close Encounters" DVD or even the original films or go watch another Dwayne Johnson movie.
