I know what your thinking. "How can fat and healthy be in the same sentence?" Right? Or wait I know. I must be talking about one of those miracle diets or something. Well I'm not. Medical research has shown that a diet consisiting of natural saturated fats such as coconut oil and monounsaturated fats such as olive oil, are heart healthy and can lead to weight loss. That's right weight loss! Recent medical studies have also shown that diets without significant fat can lead to a host of disorders in the brain and immune system. My advice is to stay away from vegetable fats ( vegetable, corn, canola, sunflower, safflower, etc. ), denounce hydrogenated fats completely ( margarin, shortening, etc.) and replace them with natural fats. Coconut oil is great for cooking. Olive oil is great for COLD uses such as salads. And Butter, yes butter is better than all of the vegetable fats and hydrogenated fats listed.
