This is going to be real short and sweet.
Good morning all. This is going to be real short and sweet. Sorry, but I watched almost no football yesterday. Maybe and hour or so at the Montreal airport and the last half quarter of the San Diego/Indy game. (Side note. More joy watching Norv Turner lose. Does anybody lose with more or a deer in the headlights look on his face then Turner?) I spent the weekend in Montreal for the Grey Cup festivities. I don't know if I mentioned this before but Montreal is one of my favourite cities in the world...(not that I have been to that many cities mind you). Problem is, I may be getting a little long in tooth to enjoy it properly for many more years. A 3 am finish Friday and a 5 am finish Saturday and this computer screen looks pretty foggy to me today. Congratulations to the Calgary Stampeders. I have done some work with them in the past and saw many old friends from Calgary this weekend. I was very happy for them to get the win. They are all good people. We threw our Bowmans Big Game Bash on Saturday night at Club 1234. This is the third year for the Bash and it has become the party to be at Grey Cup. We had over 1500 people in attendance and a 90 minute lineup outside to get in. Lucky the guest list was over 600 people. We had players, cheerleaders and celebrities of all kinds there. It was a blast. Good thing for you readers is that if you listen to our show, that is all you need to get on the guest list. Dozens of listeners who were in Montreal for the game got on the guest list just by emailing me. So next year, if you are in Calgary, make sure you get in touch. Not much I can say about a Sunday in the NFL if I really didn't see anything. I spent most of my airport time watching the New England/Miami game. Glad a game finally went as expected. It was a game that if you listened to me on Friday on Fan590 in Toronto I said just seemed to easy. Well, it wasn't that easy in the first half, but played out that way in the 2nd. Bill Bellichek, revenge, a dog, 10 days rest. I felt like I knew the result before the game started. Wish they all could be like that. Unfortunately, if you know my record this season, they are not. I remember something our Vegas Insider Dave Malinksy said to us a couple of years ago. We were talking about bad teams and if we can ever bet on them. He said, eventually, the numbers get so out of whack, we finally get some value on them. You sure about that Dave? You really want to put your money on the Detroit Lions or St. Louis Rams? I don't think the number can get high enough. The Lions teased you with a 17 point lead yesterday. That meant you had a 24 point cushion at the end of the first quarter...and you lost by 11...WITH POINT SPREAD! You want to bet Kanasa City? They gave up 54 points to the Bills at home! The Arrowhead magic is truly a thing of the past is you hadn't already noticed. The Jacksonville Jaguars are my biggest dissapointment this year. I had them going to the Superbowl from the AFC. They used to be a tough smashmouth kind of team. They got beat by the Vikings at home. They have gotten very soft. They are a team I think will bounce back next year. This is definately an off year for them. How bad is the AFC West? Denver is in first place..and lost by 21 at home to the Raiders? That sound you hear are Denver suicide pool players actually committing suicide. Ok, I really have gone on longer than I expected to here. I am severely under the weather from my weekend. I don't expect you to feel sorry for me, it's self inflicted, but anyway, I am now only 2 days into a 4 day hangover. I have no idea how any of the other guys did yesterday. I was sleeping. I went 2-1 on the show yesterday and 2-0 on the Friday Toronto segment. I have Green Bay as my other game this week. Favourites were 7-6-1 yesterday. Overs were 9-4-1. Tonight has Green Bay a 1 point dog to New Orleans. That number has come down from 2.5. I am on them and so is Randall and Malinsky. The total is 50.5. That's it. I am going back to bed.Community Blog near Los Angeles, CA
