Los Angeles police Chief William Bratton has recorded an automated telephone message on behalf of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. The message recorded Thursday challenges Republican John McCain's "record on policing issues and extolled Obama's," Bratton told the Los Angeles Times in an interview. It was unclear when, or in which states, the campaign planned to use the recording.
