As millions cope with the havoc wreaked by the stock market crisis, Los Angeles taxpayers may soon have to save more than just their own 401(k) plans, it was reported Thursday. Plummeting stock market valuations have diminished Los Angeles County's public-employee pension plan by at least $3 billion, and taxpayers are going to have to break out their checkbooks to make up the difference, according to the Daily News.
