Leopards could be best ever!
I've been waiting for some time now to make this statement but after seeing Louisville one more time on Friday night, I am ready to proclaim them as the best team I've seen since the 1997 McKinley State Championship team. It's hard to compare teams from different years but I would say this team would give that Bulldog team a run for it's money.
Loaded on offense, this team can pretty much score at will. Neal Seaman is the best QB in the county, NE Ohio and probably the state at this point. Again, hard to say because I haven't seen everyone but I've been covering high school football for almost 20 years and I can tell you that I haven't seen too many that compare to him.
Brandon Mathie, in my opinion can play at the next level at any division. This kid runs great routes, has great hands, and plays the game at a higher level than most kids. If I'm starting my high school fantasy football team, he's mine number one pick!
Dane Mathie is a welcome addition to this team. Not only does he have a burst of hidden speed when he needs it, he can punish you as well. That transfer program is a wonderful thing!
Now I'm not going to go through each kid because I'd be here all night but offensively these guys stand out because they are in key positions. The offensive line deserves a lot of credit too because rarely is Neal Seaman's uniform ever dirty from a sack. They give him the time he needs to look down field, make his reads, and then decide to pass or run.
The defense...who are these guys??? A year of Lousville football and not one defensive guy is making the headlines! That's because they play as a team, go about their business, and get the job done. Heck I"m still looking for Austin Powers back there but he's long gone!
All in all, this team is stacked from top to bottom. Throw in a great coaching staff and you have the makings of a state champion here. As long as they can not overlook an opponent (they won't) and have a major meltdown (they won't) over the next three weeks, this team will waltz into the playoffs and make an exciting run for a state title.
The guy that I want this most of all for is Ike Farrah, coach Paul Farrah's Dad. What a true gentleman this guy is! After every game I've worked, Ike comes down to the field and says hello to me. He's done this for years, win or lose. Always a smile on his face, he makes it a point to greet me. A former coach himself, he loves Louisville football, not just because his son is the head coach, but he genuinely is a true fan. Ike, as well as all the Leopard Nation deserve a state champion....maybe this will be their year!

I believe it was best team "since", not "ever"...

Getting way ahead of ourselves here. The Leps look great this year but I'm always shocked at folks that throw around "the best team ever" labels. Relax, enjoy it and don't bother getting caught up in that stuff, it's pointless anyway. The Leps have had some great teams over the years and frankly had guys like Jon Aljancic, Brian Beatty and Dan Wilson been fortunate enough to play in this offensive system who knows what kind of numbers they would have put up.

They are very good and put a lot of preassure on opposing defense's.They jumped on Alliance with a couple of quick scores and it was over. However it may be premature to compare them to a Bulldog team that produced several Sunday players.I would love to see a Mck or Glen Oak Louisville game and see what happens when you go from 45 rpm to 78. It would be great.
