Let’s start by taking a look back at my predictions for Week 4.  Palmer caught me blindsided by not starting, The Bungles pull it off.  Even with that, The Torch went 2 – 1 which means you made money riding along.  For the year I am 37-23 against the spread, that is having to pick every game.  I only put up my 3 favorite, so pay attention, not that I would encourage that type of thing!

 

OK, enough gloating, on to the recap.  Romeo showed resolve sticking by his man after early INTs, they won the game.  My question is, if they were not playing the Bungles with no Palmer would he have been pulled.  Still don’t see stability at the QB position, but this week off should help…  Dante S still has not played, they say he starts when they are back..Could this be the spark they need?  Another wish was granted for Browns fans as Pittsburg pulled off the victory bringing the division back to the Browns a little.  2 games down is nothing in this division, but I am not sure their effort warrants to much excitement at this point.

 

The North is going to have a rough year..Did you get the feeling Big Ben was one more bad play away from a on field hissy fit?  These guys are done if Parker doesn’t come back fast and run with real purpose.  That leaves the Ravens with their Rookie Coach and QB..Sure they look good now, but just like a rookie in Baseball, let the other team get some tape to study and I have a feeling D’s everywhere are going to be frustrating him on a regular basis.  This leaves the division up for grabs..

 

Well last week I predicted a meltdown in Dallas..tick, tick, BOOM.  TO gets 50% of the plays in his direction and he cries that is not enough.  After the game he berated Romo right after the game and around others, always a good thing.. I had the DIS pleasure of meeting him once at a private event, it was just he and I outside and I didn’t ask for a autograph or anything, just said he, total jerk.  I saw right there what Dallas fans are waking up too, the world is not enough for this joker and he is no James Bond. 

 

Predictions for next week:

 

Baltimore will give the Titans their first defeat, although remember The Ravens will have to play 15 games straight after their freak week 2 bye due to the hurricane.  Their D is too old, they will fade, but not this week.

 

Pittsburg will stumble against the Jags, no running back and the Jags are getting even healthier as Jerry Porter makes his first real start Sunday.  Go pick him up on waivers if you do the Fantasy thing.

 

New Orleans is hosting a party Monday night, the will be serving plenty of booze, gumbo and Vikings. 

 

My YOU MUST BE KIDDING pick of the week..Dolphins baby, they learned to win, then got a week to heal and get ready..San Diego is hurt..hmmm I love the smell of upsets in the morning.

 

Take Balt and the points, Take the jags lay the points, Take the Saints lay the points, and grab those Dolphins with the points as they should at least cover..Wife kills you if you play more than one game..make it the Saints

Deuce McAllister, he is back, just have a plan if his knee goes bad.

Jerry Porter, should be available, and is a steady 4 or 5 catch a week 80-100 yard kind of guy.

Steve Breaston, seriously he is a real player, I didn’t make him up..pick him up and thank me Monday.

 

Easy Put Downs:

Kevin smith Lions made a bad choice by putting Rudi in front of him, doesn’t really matter avoid the Detroit backfield unless you have too.

Watch Lee Evans, he has to go to Arizona that D is ticked and might just make an example of the Bills..

 

O yeah, is it too early to start the PLEASE FIRE TONY K and JAWS CHANT..Man they ruin a perfectly good football game. I heard them rip apart Pitt and 15 minutes later put them in the Hall of Fame.  MY GOODNESS these guys are changing on every play, it hurts my head and kills the game..
