HOW TO GET ARRESTED IN MAINE

No more naked lunches at the Black Frog Restaurant. The Maine lake-side eatery is dropping the promotion of giving skinny dipping customers a free Skinny Dip sandwich. That's thinly sliced prime rib on a baguette. Police report getting several nudity complaints and three people face indecent conduct charges.


HOW A TEACHER GETS SUSPENDED
In Florida, Marianna Middle School teacher Greg Howard asked his class a question regarding Barack Obama's call for change, and proceeded to write out what C-H-A-N-G-E stood for: "Can You Help A (N-word) Get Elected." He then laughed, according to students. He keeps a teaching job, but it's now at the adult education center. Howard was also suspended for ten days without pay, and is required to submit a letter of apology to the students involved, and is required to attend diversity and sensitivity training.

John McCain's brother made a joke at a campaign rally this weekend that might not play well in parts of Virginia.Joe McCain was speaking at an event for his brother, when he called Arlington and Alexandria quote "communist country." The Washington Post's Web site says the remark drew laughter. But Joe McCain has since apologized. A McCain campaign spokeswoman called it "Joe McCain's unsuccessful attempt at humor." She added that "John McCain and Sarah Palin are committed to winning" supporters in Northern Virginia.

Thank you everyone who participated in our Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon.  The Magic Staff and I deeply appreciate it.  So far we have raised $12,057.  And that was as of Friday night.  Money was still coming in over the weekend so we'll have a little more to add to that figure.  You can see the photos from the radiothon on the Magic photos page plus there are some on my myspace and Freaky Dave's myspace. 

All week long, MJ and I will have Cheetah Girls tickets to give away every night and every morning so listen for your cue to call.  The concert is October 15 at the Sommet Center.  

Saturday is the CASA fundraiser dance from 7-11pm.  Tickets are still on sale at 520-8733.  This is their very first event so let's make it a success.  Don't let the fact that I will be judging costumes make you nervous.

On the Amazing Race,  Anthony and Stephanie were eliminated.

Jane Magazine is in the works to return on Friday.  Make sure you are registered as a member of the Jane-eration.

The Premier girls stopped by to remind me that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Early detection is the key.  Every woman 35 and over should have a mammogram.  There are no excuses. 


Former American Idol contestant LaKisha Jones got married Sunday while her friends and fellow singers, including Melinda Doolittle, Gina Glocksen and Sanjaya Malakar looked on. The minister had a sense of humor and played to the audience by saying, "Pay attention. What I'm about to say is very important: We'll have the results right after these messages."

The vice presidential debate drew 69,989,000 viewers on 11 networks.

Helio Castroneves was brought into a Miami courtroom Friday in cuffs and shackles and had to give up his passport.  He and his lawyer and his sister are accused of a tax scheme and are out on bond.  I can only assume he has hired a different lawyer to handle this problem. 

Tonight we'll find out exactly what type of injury Misty May-Treanor has suffered and whether or not she will be dancing the jive with Maks.  All we know for sure is she has hurt her ankle, but not broken it.  And she's resting at home.  Jeffrey Russ suffered a scratched cornea and Karina Smirnoff twisted her ankle this season.  And the show's only been on two weeks.
